The Castleknock Hotel is a 5-minute drive from Luttrellstown Castle. We will provide a shuttle service to transport guests to and from the hotel to the events at the castle. The Castleknock Hotel has a full spa, gym, and restaurants. We have reserved a block of 20 rooms at a discounted rate. Please use the room block code #1391377 and email reservations@chcc.ie to reserve your rooms!
Travel Note
There are many hotels to choose from in or close to City Center (Temple Bar neighborhood), but we recommend staying on the South Side of Dublin - South of the River Liffey. We recommend the following hotels: The Alex Hotel (Close to Trinity College, Merrion Square Park, and National Gallery of Art) www.thealexhotel.ie Or Buswells Hotel (Older hotel with a lot of charm! Close to Saint Stephen’s Green Park and the luxurious Shelbourne Hotel) https://www.buswells.ie/en/
Travel Note
If you would like to stay in our neighborhood (which is about a 20-minute walk to Dublin City center and to the beach) we recommend: 1. The School House Hotel (Charming, great food, used to be a schoolhouse!) www.schoolhouse.ie 2. The Mespil Hotel (Modern, around the corner from lively Baggot Street with many restaurants and our favorite pub!) www.mespilhotel.com 3. Townhouses - Pembroke Townhouse, Buttler’s Townhouse, or The Roxford Lodge are all small hotels in the classic Dublin Georgian style townhouses
Travel Note
As of February 2022, if you are fully vaccinated (first + second dose, AND booster) no Covid testing is necessary to fly to Ireland. Please see the website provided for more information.
Travel Note
For guests who are up for the adventure of driving in Ireland on the left side of the road, we recommend going to your nearest AAA branch in the USA and applying for an international driver's license. It costs about $20 and will make your experience of renting a car a little easier!
Travel Note
Public Transportation in Dublin is quite good. The DART train (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) will take you up and down the coast of Ireland. Beautiful day trips can be taken to Howth, Bray, or Greystones without needing a car! The "Luas" street trains and bus systems are easy to use. (Buses do not stop for you unless you wave them down). LEAP Cards are the name of the public transit pass you might want to buy when you get here.
Travel Note
Taxis and rideshares are available in Dublin. Many taxis only take cash. We recommend downloading the Uber App if you don't have it installed on your phone already!
