The Wedding Website of Nicholas Hatcher and Michelle Slivinski
Meet our friends and family walking us down the aisle.

Alex Al-Atrash

Best Man

Nick met Alex in the third grade at, Travilah Elementary School, and they have been friends ever since. Growing up they played soccer on the same team for years and loved to come to practice decked head to toe in Manchester United gear every time their beloved United won against Chelsea which happened to be their coaches favorite team. Despite leaving their hometowns for Boston, MA and State College, PA respectively they still have remained close friends to this day. Alex, and his family, have been close friends of the Hatcher family for nearly twenty years, and it is very special to have him as Nick’s best man.

Helen Edwards

Matron of Honor

Michelle’s identical twin sister and better half. Helen has been there for everything and keeps Michelle on her toes. She reminds Michelle often of the importance of finding fun and joy in every day life. Though technically younger, Helen leads as an example for her sister in marriage. With her devoted husband Benji, they exemplify a love and kindness that is fundamental in a life long partner.

Alex Korolkoff

Groomsman

Alex and Nick met at Robert Frost Middle School and have been friends ever since. Alex and Nick both spent all four years of their high school lives as part of their high school stage crew where they became known for their antics and, as both of them defined it, creative problem solving. Alex, Nick and Alex Al-Altrash also have been close friends since middle school and spent many a summer at Alex Korolkoff’s family beach house in Delaware. Alex and his family have been close with the Hatcher’s for many years, and it is fantastic to have him as part of our wedding day.

Kate Harris

Bridesmaid

Michelle first met Kate during college while visiting her sister at the University of Colorado Boulder. Though initially “Helen’s friend,” Kate’s warmth and friendship quickly developed into a bond that would last well beyond undergrad into Kate’s endeavors in law school at the University of Chicago. Kate has been a huge role model for Michelle. Often referred to by the Slivinski’s as “Future President Harris,” Kate has inspired Michelle to push the envelope both personally and professionally. Her and her brother Kevin are also responsible for Michelle’s love of boxing, weight lifting, chai tea and spiritual health.

Ben Ray

Groomsman

Nick and Ben met a few weeks after Nick’s family moved to America in 2000. Also from England, and living down the street from Nick, Ben’s family and Nick’s family quickly became close. From playing soccer together, to Nick coaching Ben’s teams, and from exploring the woods behind Nick’s parents house to working on their high-school stage crew together they have been friends for almost twenty years. Ben, and his family, welcomed the Hatcher’s to America, and it means a lot to Nick and his family that Ben, and the Ray family is part of this special day.

Hope Modugno

Bridesmaid

Another one of “Helen’s friends” initially, Michelle met Hope in 2011 when Michelle’s sister and Hope traveled abroad to Australia. Though Hope lived in Connecticut at the time, her strong bond with Helen during their trip turned into a lifelong friendship that would spur periodic trips to DC for meetups and homecoming dances. Hope’s accomplishments and sense of adventure then took her to the University of Southern California for undergrad. Though it was more difficult to keep in touch, Michelle and Hope reconnected when she moved to Boston in 2018 to begin law school at Boston University. Fast forward through many drinks, dinners, dog park sessions and juice making in Michelle’s apartment, any chance to see Hope became the highlight of Michelle and Nick’s week.

Jon Wyand

Groomsman

Nick and Jon met at Emerson College in the Theatre Department. Poor Jon was tasked with production managing a show Nick and Taylor were designing - little did he know he would end up making a life long friend. Jon is not only a close friend of Nick’s but also shared the same major as Michelle. Known as her “pequeño,” there was scarcely a time where they weren’t found together at the desk of their dorm building, on RA duty, or having a much needed drink. Nick and Michelle are both thrilled to have him as a part of our wedding party. Jon (a.k.a. Skinny) is still a fundamental part of our lives today.

Maggie Irwin

Bridesmaid

Maggie and Michelle became friends through their love of dance. Though they attended the same dance studio when they were little, Maggie and Michelle’s friendship took off in high school when they joined Essence Dance Company. They bonded over shows, pep rallies, and musicals, and Maggie could regularly be found at the Slivinski house for a cast party, high school dance, or Friday movie night. Maggie then moved to Williamsburg to attend the College of William & Mary. Her studies quickly bonded Maggie and Michelle’s Dad over their love of geology. The girls got a chance to reconnect after college when Maggie’s boyfriend Arona started school in New England. These periodic visits not only kept the girls connected, but allowed Nick and Arona to bond over their love of soccer.

Taylor Ness

Groomsman

Nick and Taylor met at Emerson College in the Theatre Design & Technology program, both studying lighting design. They worked on, and designed numerous shows together and eventually became roommates. Taylor tried his best to make Nick into a baseball fan but couldn’t prevail. So it is only fair that when Nick finally got Taylor to be a soccer fan Taylor decided to support the “sister” team of his beloved Red Sox, Nick’s arch rival, Liverpool FC. Taylor became a close friend of both Nick and Michelle over their seven years in Boston and we are so glad to have him share this day with us.

Maddy Young

Bridesmaid

Maddy was Michelle’s rock throughout her time at Emerson College. A fiercely talented artist and loyal friend, Michelle and Madds could frequently be found together building props, drinking kombucha, or hanging out in 1010 (our school’s design studio). Also a friend of Nick’s, Madds is primarily responsible for getting this couple together. Unsurprisingly, Michelle and Nick continue to rely on Maddy’s friendship to this day. Her incredible creativity, resourcefulness, kindness, and uncanny number of shared interests make her a fundamental part of both Michelle and Nick’s lives forever more.

William Hatcher

Junior Groomsman

William, or “Wills,” is the son of Nick’s cousin Tom. Wills has been a highlight of every trip back to England over the past few years and we are so excited to have him help us down the aisle on this special day.
