Golden Gate Bridge: You can’t come to San Francisco without seeing it! Walk or bike across for incredible views, and head to Battery Spencer for that perfect photo, bonus points if its on a polaroid! Alcatraz Island: Take a ferry from Pier 33 and explore one of the city’s most fascinating (and infamous) landmarks. Make sure you reserve tickets ahead of time! Cable Car Ride: Hop on at the top of California Street and enjoy the ride, take it all the way and then hop off and head to the Ferry Building. Fisherman’s Wharf: A fun stop for classic waterfront views. See the sea lions lounging at Pier 39 and grab some saltwater taffy or candy from It’s Sugar while you’re there.
North Beach: We love this neighborhood. Stop by Tony’s Pizza Napoletana for one of the best pizzas in the city, it’s one of our absolute favorites. Chinatown: Wander through the colorful streets and don’t miss Li Po Lounge for their famous (and very strong!) Mai Tai - and if Connie is there be sure to ask for it "extra delicious". The Mission: Known for its vibrant murals, amazing burritos, and Dolores Park, the perfect place to relax and soak up the city vibe. Haight-Ashbury: Vintage shops, record stores, and that classic San Francisco charm make it a fun spot to explore.
Napa or Sonoma Valley: A day trip north to wine country is always worth it, beautiful vineyards, great wine, and the best reason to toast to love. The Ferry Building Marketplace: Fresh oysters, artisan snacks, and local finds, all with stunning bay views. Taco Bell Cantina (Pacifica): A bit outside the city, but worth it, it’s literally on the beach.
Golden Gate Park: One of our favorite places to spend a sunny day. We love riding bikes through the park and exploring its trails, lakes, and gardens. Keep an eye out for the Buffalo! Crissy Field: Perfect for a walk or picnic with incredible Golden Gate Bridge views, Charlie-approved! Lands End Trail: A scenic coastal hike with sweeping ocean views and a little adventure.
Salt & Straw: Our favorite ice cream in the city, the seasonal flavors are always creative and delicious. Boudin Bakery: You can’t leave without trying their clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. Equator Coffee: Grab a coffee and walk along Marina Green or if you're there on a Sunday explore the Fort Mason Farmers Market.
