Galena, Illinois is a historic resort town in the northwest corner of the state, famous for its well-preserved 19th-century architecture, its deep connection to Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant, and its vibrant tourism scene. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite places along with some that we hope to explore in the future. We recommend expanding your visit to Galena County as a whole as well as making the extra trip over to Dubuque, IA to enhance your visit!
