In the summer of 2018, Chelsea signed up for the DC Bocce League and was randomly assigned to Nick's team. After Facebook stalking his new teammate, Nick was intrigued by a photo on Chelsea's profile which showed her on the Arrested Development stair car. When they met for the first time, Chelsea was endeared to Nick after he gave her a hard time, which is the Tufarolo family's love language. It wasn't long before they formed a connection, but at the request of his teammates Nick waited until the end of the league season before asking Chelsea out. Since their first date (Story District show at BlackCat) they've been together through many trips, social sports leagues, new jobs, 30th birthdays, and other life changes (including moving into their first condo together in July 2020!). We are so excited to continue to build our life together and look forward to celebrating our love and commitment with our friends and family.

Nick proposed to Chelsea at the Winery at Bull Run (Centreville, VA) which was the first winery they visited as a couple. Chelsea initially thought it would be a normal winery date but soon knew something was up when Nick leapt out of bed uncharacteristically early that morning and decided to wear dress pants (and not shorts) when it was supposed to be 80 degrees outside. Her suspicions were later confirmed when, barely two sips into their bottle of wine, Nick insisted that they "walk around the property to take a selfie." Nick asked Chelsea to marry him, with an engagement photographer hiding there to capture the moment. She was so surprised!
