We met at our first job at Hungry Howies. I had been working there since the beginning of the year and Nick got hired in October. Come to find out our families “sorta” knew of each other.

We went on our first date in August 2015 to the movies and saw Vacation. Nick bought us a large popcorn, but I noticed he wasn’t eating any, so I asked him why and he said “Oh I bought it for you, I don’t like popcorn.” We continued to hang out casually for a few weeks, despite his red flag of not liking popcorn, and then he officially asked me to be his girlfriend about a month after our first date when we were out on a walk. Nick also came clean about actually loving popcorn, he was just too nervous to eat any on our date.

Nick was joining my volleyball team and claimed he was nervous so he wanted to practice a bit. We go to Hines Park to the public volleyball net and play around a bit. Nick notices the walking trail nearby and asked me if I wanted to go for a walk, so we do. We’re almost done with the trail and before I knew it, he was down on his knee asking me to marry him.
