Your presence is gift enough, but if you're feeling particularly generous, this page has two varieties of gifts we'd love as newlyweds. The Traditional Route -- Nic has 20 different kinds of silverware. I don't know how. Don't even get me started on his dish towel collection. And the free bar stools have questionable structural integrity. As newlyweds, we're excited for a more "stable" future. If this idea floats your boat, click the Target, Amazon, or Bed Bath and Beyond links. The Giving Back Route -- That said, we're going to be just fine with our mismatched place settings and questionable stools. We have what we need and will upgrade as we go. We feel it's equally important to acknowledge, celebrate and support local organizations doing great work during this awesome moment in our lives. If this rings your bell, check out the links to Humane Society of Pulaski County or TNC Arkansas.
Amazon
Random needs from our favorite web conglomerate.
Bed Bath and Beyond
Join us and our unhealthy obsession with Fiestaware here!
Humane Society of Pulaski County
Since 1946, the Humane Society of Pulaski County, located in Little Rock, Arkansas, has been making a difference in the lives of domestic animals in Central Arkansas. It's the only no-kill shelter in the county. Kim adopted a dog and cat from HSPC, and she used to volunteer there. Nic would like to take this moment to share that he also had 8 hours of mandatory volunteering there for a traffic ticket.
Target
You know Kim wasn't going to leave Target out of the mix. When it doubt, send her to Target. She'll find something to buy.
The Nature Conservancy Arkansas
Kim works here, so she's a pretty big fan of TNC. TNC's work in Arkansas falls into four main buckets: 1. Protecting Water: Conserving Ozark and Ouachita rivers by restoring streams, reforesting floodplains and improving unpaved roads to reduce sediment. 2. Living with Fire: Using prescribed fire to improve habitat for wildlife and reduce wildfire risk. 3. Restoring the Delta: Reforesting floodprone areas and less productive cropland to reconnect rivers to wetlands. 4. Inspiring People for Nature: Providing people access and opportunities to experience nature in unique ways. (If you were wondering, this is Kim's favorite.)
