Nicole and Caleb first met in the elevator at FAMU Law School. Nicole doesn’t remember this first meeting at all; Caleb was wondering what someone who looked like Nicole was doing there. Later, they became friends over shared interests, passing Criminal Procedure, and staying awake in Business Organizations. A close friendship would develop over the next five years, and friends wondered when the two would finally go ahead and date each other. There were many platonic concerts, beach days, and chaturangas. In late 2015, Caleb took a trip to Summit County, Colorado, to celebrate New Years Eve. While on that trip, Caleb had a dream that the two would be together (Chris Spring can attest to this). Caleb’s subconscious was rewarded soon thereafter when the two finally became romantically involved about a month later. Their first official date was to a Thai restaurant (conspicuously named “Thai Cuisine Restaurant”) and then to a soda fountain (daringly labelled “The Soda Fountain”). Soon, the two would be living together, along with their two tiny terrors, Luna and Benji. They were home.

Caleb was hoping to pop the question while we were in the Rockies with families and friends over the holidays in 2016. However, logistical issues pushed things back a few months. After receiving the appropriate blessings, and with help from Caleb’s big sister, Melody, via Isabella Woods, the ring started to take shape. Once it was set and finished, Jimmy Payne picked up the finished product and met Caleb in Lakeland at a Cracker Barrel early on a Tuesday morning. Saturday plans to propose at Bok Tower Gardens were dashed when a friend dropped in that morning. The next day, we went to Leu Gardens, coincidentally a year to the day since our last visit on 3/12/2016. This time, it was the plant sale again, the busiest day of the year. It took a while to find a quiet spot. We finally found a bench by the lake, and sat. After a few nervous jokes, Caleb got on both knees, and said to s crying Nicole, “see if it fits”. Later, we realized no one asked the real question; then, Nicole answered yes. We bought a himalayan honeysuckle, a stag horn, and a hanging pant that currently decorate our front porch. A few months later, we returned to the same spot for our engagement photos.

The wedding will begin at 5:00 PM on November 18, 2017 at the Villas of Grand Cypress; a 1500-acre resort with 142 villas, 45 golf holes, 3 pools and a clubhouse. The attire is Florida Formal; dark suits and ties are not required, but welcome. Weather permitting, the event will be outside. Dress comfortably, keeping all this in mind. We can assure you that no one will be bounced out. The wedding will be a traditional Israeli wedding with a Nicole and Caleb spin; this means we are having one big, continuous party, with cocktail hour first, then a short but sweet ceremony, and lots of food, dancing, and good times to follow. The event will be over at 11, and we have access to the clubhouse bar until late for those who would like to continue the party. The Villas at Grand Cypress are 25 minutes from the Orlando Airport (and downtown Orlando) and about an hour from Tampa. On the property, there are studio, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas. We have a room-block here. The Hyatt Regency at Grand Cypress is a short shuttle ride away, and there are several other lodging accommodations nearby.
