David and Grace first met in 2021 at a gathering hosted by a friend who was in Cru, a college ministry that met through Cal Poly Pomona. The interaction was sweet and casual, yet it felt so easy, as if they had been friends a lifetime. They bonded over their faith, coffee, and schoolwork, quickly growing fond of each other’s company. The numerous study sessions at coffee shops, shifts at the catering company they both worked for, and time spent cooking and sharing meals eventually formed a budding affection for one another. They both knew after some time that they felt this way, and finally shared that with each other. However, life was busy for the both of them, and they never even went on a first date in the several months they had gotten to know each other! David eventually made the time to take Grace out on a nice date in Pasadena, but they still didn't make it official! Finally, on an evening in October as they were painting pumpkins for Halloween, David and Grace shared their feelings for each other and began a loving relationship. Throughout the last four years of their relationship, Grace and David ended up going on so many adventures together, and creating many amazing memories. They took a road trip to San Francisco, had a double-date in Seattle, went on many snowboarding trips, and helped each other move…a lot. They learned so much about each other throughout these adventures, but also taught each other so much as well. There have definitely been seasons of celebration and mourning, however, they made an effort to work through it all together and continue to do their best to honor each other through all seasons. They both knew they were ready for engagement, and with the support of their closest friends and family, David proposed to Grace on July 11, 2025. She had no idea… Now they can’t wait to celebrate one of the most special days of their lives surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
