One time a friend asked, " Do you think you would ever date Ethan?". Immediately, I said," No! I only see him as a friend." Well, flash forward to August 26 of 2016, Ethan asked me to go on a date with him, and I happily, said "Sure!". As our date approached, I got more nervous because this was my first date and I didn't know how I would talk, react, and eat in front of him especially when we were comfortable being friends. However, this was also Ethan's first date therefore it made me feel better knowing that he was probably just as nervous. To my surprise, because we were friends since freshman of high school, our conversations felt pretty natural. We talked about life, the military, our faith, and things that we never told each other when we were friends. After that we began dating all through high school, and about 9 months into dating, Ethan brought up marriage. This topic made me nervous because couples at my age didn't last through a year let alone marriage. However, Ethan assured me that we were different than other people and that we would last with God's help. I was skeptical at first, but Ethan always proved otherwise. He showed me how to be closer to God and taught me how to trust in him. Ethan taught me patience, love, and understanding. On August 15, 2018, Ethan proposed and I said, "Yes!" Ethan, it makes me feel so good knowing that you are my first person and also my last person. I love you now and forever.
