FAQs

Question

What safety precautions are you taking for COVID-19?

Answer

After waiting for almost 3 years, we're so excited to finally celebrate with 170+ loved ones in-person! Although we would be super bummed, please consider staying home if you feel sick or if you or someone you’ve been in contact with has tested positive for COVID-19 in the 1 week leading up to the event. Please notify us no later than July 27th if you no longer can attend the wedding!! We also encourage guests to take an at-home rapid test 72 hours (i.e. on Wednesday 7/27) before the wedding for an extra precaution. You can order free at-home COVID-19 tests from USPS: https://special.usps.com/testkits We are actively monitoring COVID-19 developments and want to assure you that the safety of our guests is our primary focus. To ensure the health & safety of all our guests, our wedding venue, the Berkeley City Club requires that all guests ages 18+ be fully vaccinated and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Please be prepared to attest on behalf of your party's COVID-19 vaccination status in your RSVP response. We appreciate your cooperation and your health is our number one priority. We understand that this situation may make your attendance of our wedding in-person impossible and this deeply saddens us because we love you and will miss you.

Question

Where is the wedding located?

Answer

Both the ceremony and dinner reception is taking place in one location: The Berkeley City Club, 2315 Durant Ave, Berkeley, CA 94704. The ceremony is on a covered patio terrace and reception is indoors in a grand ballroom, both on the second floor. We chose this beautiful hotel as our venue because of its historical architectural significance, designed by Julia Morgan, the first woman architect in California. She was prolific and designed many landmarks like the Hearst Castle. We hope you marvel at the building's beauty!

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Parking is NOT available in the venue’s lot. The closest walking distance paid parking options are located at: The Metropolitan Garage - 2315 Ellsworth Street (2 min walk) *closes at midnight* Bancroft/Fulton Lot - 2210 Durant Ave - (5 min walk) enter on the left side of Durant Ave *closes at 2am* Street Parking Metered - free after 6:00pm The Berkeley City Club is also accessible by Downtown Berkeley BART public transportation (15 min walk).

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive promptly by 4pm to be seated, doors will strictly close at 4:15pm. Make sure to arrive with enough time for parking and walking to the Berkeley City Club. Head over to the "Schedule" page for more details on the event schedule.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

See the RSVP details for your family. Kids are welcomed but we will leave it up to the parents' discretion and totally understand if you'd feel more comfortable having them stay at home with considerations of the big size and duration of the in-person event and the COVID-19 safety precautions in place.

Question

Can I bring an additional guest?

Answer

Please check your RSVP detail for your guest/plus one. Due to the max capacity and limited size of our venue, we are only able to accommodate the individual names and/or plus ones explicitly listed on your invitation and RSVP detail. We're so sorry that we can't accommodate anyone additional!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress attire is formal & fabulous! We encourage you to dress to impress in gowns, cocktail dresses, suits and ties. The bridal party is wearing taupe dresses and grey suits. Ladies, to help the bride shine, please refrain from wearing ivory/light blush/white or red.

Question

Is there a gift registry?

Answer

Having you come celebrate with us is a gift enough! If you are feeling particularly generous, head over to the “Registry” page where we’ve curated a wishlist as we fully furnish and hope to renovate the home we purchased together. It is also customary in Vietnamese culture to gift cash.
