Connor and Ngan met in Boston, May 2018. Connor was finishing his 2nd year of residency at Boston Children’s Hospital when he started talking to Ngan and asked her out on a date. Ngan was hesitant to agree as residents/doctors tend to be very arrogant through her experience of working in health care. Though hesitant, Ngan agreed to meet up for their first date at Tico. Connor turned out to be the complete opposite of what Ngan had expected! He was soft spoken, timid, and reserved. They had a good first date but Connor seemed so reserved that Ngan did not think they would be going on a second date. And yet they did... a second, a third and soon to be a lifetime of dates! A turning point in their relationship was when Connor finished his residency in Boston. Connor matched with John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and was soon preparing for his move. They considered continuing their relationship long distance but Connor did not want them to be apart, so he asked Ngan to move with him. Having never left Boston and growing up with traditional Vietnamese parents, it was difficult for Ngan to leave. But Connor spoke to Ngan’s parents and asked for their permission and before they knew it, they were packing up their bags ready to embark on a new journey. They moved to Baltimore and created a new home for the two of them. Then comes Christmas 2019. Ngan came back from visiting her family in Boston, and just in time to spend Christmas Day with Connor. They opened presents that evening and when Ngan thought all the presents have been opened, Connor told her there was more. Connor left and came back with a gift for Ngan. It was a photo album filled with memories of all their trips and moments together, with little poems throughout. On the last page of the album were the words "Ngan, will you marry me?" as he pulled out the ring. * * * Please join us in the city where it all began!
