This is the closest city to our venue and where we anticipate most of our guests to stay. Relax & play at the beach, head to the farmer's market or sunset market on Thursday, and check out the Surf Museum! Stone Brewing has a beer garden (+restaurant) nearby, or head to Mary's Diner for a great breakfast. Go whale watching too - you'll definitely catch lots of dolphins, and August will be peak season for blue whale sightings!
Liberty Station is one of our favorite spots in San Diego - what was once a naval training center is now a huge public market and park. We love to get food from the market (it's a huge food hall) and sit outside, and then stroll through some of the stores in the Art District or take Tuna (our dog!) on a walk by the esplanade.
North Park is one of our most visited neighborhoods in San Diego. It is about 35 minutes from Oceanside. It offers breweries, bars, good food, and boutique shops. It is one of our favorite areas here because of its walkability! Some of our favorite spots in North Park are: Pure Project, Polite Provisions (where we took our engagement photos!), Siamo Napoli, Day to Day Vintage, Verbatim Books and Pigment!
Sunset Cliffs is partly why Deanna wanted to move to SD! One of our favorite things to do is get poke from It's Raw in Ocean Beach, and drive over to Sunset Cliffs to eat. Highly recommend doing the same ;)
One of the reasons Brandon moved to SD! The Japanese Friendship Garden is a beautiful garden in Balboa Park - entrance fee is $16 ($14 for military!) but we promise it's worth it! Take a stroll around Balboa as well - there are lots of museums, small trails, and pretty views to experience.
La Jolla is a beautiful area and we always bring visitors here! See the seals at the Children's Pool, and then walk up to the cove to spot the sea lions. La Jolla Cove is also a popular snorkel spot, and you can rent paddle boards and kayaks in the area to enjoy some sun. Grab some gelato at Bobboi before you head out!
About 20 minutes from Oceanside, Fletcher Cove is a beautiful beach with shower stations and restrooms. It is located in Solana Beach, one of our favorite North County towns. Solana Beach also has a cute design district to walk around in!
