It all started with a little matchmaking and a lot of luck...specifically, Lucky Number 7. One of my best friends, Phil, tipped me off about an awesome assistant manager I just had to meet. So naturally, I crashed a GameStop Injustice tournament (as one does), won the tournament and met the girl. The next day, I showed up at the mall, handed her a number 7 Phase 10 card with my number on it, complimented her shoes (because, they were cool), and asked her to text me. She did. It turns out Lucky Number 7 really was lucky. - Tom
Tom asked me to take Friday off, which I assumed meant a day of fun. We grabbed breakfast, and then - surprise! - he told me he had to go into work. Cue the disappointment. But turns out, he wasn’t headed to work at all, he’d planned an entire scavenger hunt leading to the park where we had our first kiss. 🤍 The first clue was hidden in our mailbox, disguised as a package I was supposed to open. From there, the journey hit all the highlights of our story: Connie’s (our favorite restaurant), our first apartment, and finally Proska Park. I may or may not have entered through the wrong side and totally surprised him before he could hit “record” on the video. Oops. But hey, perfectly imperfect is kind of our thing. And yes, I said yes. - Marlene
