Our Story

Stephanie & Richard met at a bar in the East Village of Manhattan, called Goodnight Sonny. As Richard walked into the bar with friends made through playing on a Kickball league, next to the door was the friendly smile of a competitor he had yet to meet. Here began fates last chance. Two years of socializing within similar circles finally culminated in a chance meeting. During conversation Stephanie took the pink seahorse from her cocktail and dropped it into Richards. The flirtatious connection was obvious, and Richard made sure there was a second meeting! By their fifth date on the beach, this perfect day became known to both as “the day we knew”. Despite Richard moving back to England for work in less than three months, Stephanie was reassuring and perfectly committed to the dream they had begun. Throughout their relationship Stephanie often spun Richard's necklace as they made wishes for future happiness. This led to a journey of discovering the world and documenting every step in journals that they promised to share with each other one day. In November 2019, Richard's parents visited NY to mark the first union of all parents. Between acting as decoys, setting up floral arrangements and photographing the event, their parents were a key part of a very special day. On Saturday November 9, as Stephanie & Richard walked past Goodnight Sonny, and reminisced about the day they met. Richard suggested going inside. Alone inside, their surroundings were lit by candlelight with white flowers arranged throughout the room. Their song, “Only You” played as they walked over to the exact spot where they met. Richard shared the keep sakes he had saved through their relationship and finally shared his journal. He turned to the page where he wrote about asking Stephanie’s parents for her hand in marriage. As he got down on one knee, he asked her to make his wish come true. She spun his necklace, and made her wish, there she found the ring as he asked, “Will you marry me?”
