We met in August of 2016, where our first date (brunch) turned into an entire day together. We made things official by Halloween and the rest is pretty much history! We've had so much fun the past five years together here in Dallas and can't wait to share our city with you!

Mary's parents drove to Texas for Christmas and we planned to go to Top Golf for a COVID friendly family activity. However, that morning, Mary's brother (Adam) called her to say that Top Golf had called to say they had overbooked and were asking if people could reschedule. Scrambling to think of something to do, we decided on visiting the Gaylord Hotel to see their holiday decorations. Austin and Mary arrived at the hotel while Adam texted saying that they were about 10-15 minutes behind. In on the plan, Austin suggested we go inside and wait for them in the lobby (where the big Christmas trees are). Mary, unfazed, went to the bathroom, suggested getting drinks, and started walking around taking photos. Finally standing in front of the large tree, Austin said, "There's your fam!" and by the time Mary looked and turned back around he was down on one knee. Of course, she said "yes!" and then Austin explained the entire day was planned after all. Our friends Cam & Will (who Mary thought were getting ready for a trip) were even hiding in the bushes to take photos! We went back to Austin's parents house afterwards where the family actually was (including via FaceTime!) and had the perfect backyard celebration!
