Becky and Marie met freshman year of high school and bonded over their love of fixing laptops and all things sci-fi fantasy. Many episodes of Firefly and They Might Be Giants concerts later, they were best friends and causing their teachers many headaches. Marie lives in Maryland where she works as a cyber-security consultant.
Erin
Bridesmaid
Before her senior year of high school, Becky did an 8-week summer camp at Stanford where Erin was her RA. Miraculously both managed to survive the summer without getting kicked out (a fate that befell 50% of the RAs on staff that summer) and the rest was history. Erin lives in LA where she works in customer relations & marketing.
Kurtis
Groomsman
At the beginning of Kurtis & Chris's junior year of high-school they were assigned as roommates and quickly became good friends. They spent many a long night playing video games and watching movies, which led to a lasting friendship and Kurtis defining the term "Chris Movie" to refer to Chris's ultra-obscure cinematic selections. Kurtis currently resides in Washington with his wife Crystal.
John
Groomsman
Chris and John bonded as the new kids in school during their junior year of high school where they shared a love of snowboarding and letting Kurtis do all the talking. They went on countless snowboarding trips and late night taco-bell runs. John currently resides in Washington with his wife Erica.
Rev. Rick Rutkauskas
Officiant
Rick and his wife Melanie have known Becky since she was conceived. As life-long friends of the Nevin family they have served in many roles, such as grandparents, godparents, graduation cheering squad, vacation companions, parent-child disagreement arbiters, inter-sibling violence referees, vititus brewing instructors, homemade wine suppliers, and countless others. Rick is a retired minister in the Lutheran church and we are honored to have him officiate our wedding.
