Hotel
We've reserved a block of rooms for a discounted rate of $124/night + taxes and fees, which includes free breakfast. You can book by calling or using the discount code online in the "corporate or group code" box. The hotel is near the airport and in a big shopping area with box stores, restaurants and cafes. It is a short walk to the MAX (our light-rail system) which can get you to the heart of Portland without any transfers. The hotel also has a airport shuttle, so if you want you can get around the whole weekend without needing a car. It is 9 miles to our venue, but we recommend using Lyft so you can enjoy all the local wine and draft beer we'll be pouring.

Train
For getting to the venue we recommend using Lyft. It will take about 20 minutes from the Hyatt Place and the ride should cost $20 (4 seats) or $30 (6 seats). There are usually coupons available online. If you chose to drive yourself, there is parking onsite. The MAX is our fantastic light rail system. Most trains are fairly new and clean and make for fantastic people-watching (try counting the different hair colors!) From the red-line stop at the hotel, it will take you about 15-30 minutes to get to Portland, depending on which part of town you're headed. Tickets are on an "honor code" system, there are no turnstiles, but they do conduct random checks and the fines are not fun. The ticket machines take credit card, or you can get the 'TriMet Tickets' app to buy and validate tickets all on your phone. Tickets are $2.50 for 2.5 hours or $5.00 for a day-pass (ends at midnight). The "Portland Streetcar" is also part of this network. Trimet.org has a helpful and easy-to-use trip planner.
Travel Note
You may have heard that it rains non-stop in Portland and this is pretty much true, especially in the winter. Come prepared with a rain-coat (hood recommended) or small umbrella. It will likely be cold, with average temperatures in the low 40s, dropping lower after dark. Historically, the snow usually holds off until later in the Winter, or never comes at all. However, in 2015 there was a small storm over the New Years weekend and in 2017 there were several large storms in early January. We hope this doesn't scare you away, and if you'd like to come a few days early to ensure a timely arrival please hop over to our "Things To Do" page for some ideas. You won't be bored!
