Rebekah began tutoring Nathan’s sister, Isabel, in March of 2018. Because of this, Rebekah and Nathan passed each other every so often and began learning about one another through Nathan’s family. A few months down the road, Nathan decided to visit her church in order to become better acquainted. Over the summer, he slowly but surely made his presence known to her, her family, and her friends, and began spending every Sunday with the Geeslins. Until one day...he decided to call Rebekah's dad, Mark, and ask for permission to pursue her! Rebekah was stunned, but so excited! Unbeknown to Nathan, she had already been praying about the possibility of getting to know him better. On Labor Day, September 3rd, several weeks after calling her dad, Nathan worked up the courage to ask Rebekah if he could, “run an idea past her.” Over a three hour chat at Starbucks covering everything from family history and politics, to personal callings and travel dreams, the two decided to enter into an intentional relationship. For the next several months, they prayed like crazy and walked their relationship out with the guidance of their parents and mentors. They shared countless conversations, laughs, hikes, breakthroughs, and movie quotes. What seemed like no time at all also felt like an eternity of friendship. On a hike at Radnor Lake in early December, the two confessed that they had heard from the Lord. Yes, they believed they were meant for each other. After a beautiful Christmas season, four months after that nerve-racking phone call with her dad, Nathan proposed to Rebekah on New Year’s Eve and, as you probably guessed, she said yes!!
