Explore Gabriola

A few recommended spots to eat, shop and explore on Gabriola Island.

Mad Rona's Coffee Bar

500 North Road, Gabriola, BC V0R 1X3, Canada

Great coffee, house-made baked goods, soups, sandwiches and paninis. Veggie + gluten-free options too.

Woodfire Restaurant

500 North Road, Gabriola, BC V0R 1X0, Canada

Mediterranean flavours with West Coast flair. Wood-fired pizzas, Italian pasta dishes, seafood and grill. Lots of local beers, ciders and wines from around BC. Reservations recommended.

Ground Up Cafe and Catering

560 North Road, Gabriola, BC V0R 1X3, Canada
, +1 778-679-1200

These lovely folks are doing our wedding catering and they've just recently opened their new brick and mortar cafe location!

Surf Lodge and Pub

885 Berry Point Road, Gabriola, BC V0R 1X1, Canada
, +1 250-247-9231

A casual restaurant and pub right on the water.

Nesters Food Market

575 North Road, Gabriola, BC V0R 1X3, Canada

Small local grocery store to pick up any supplies you might need. If you're doing a bigger shop, you may want to stock up at a larger supermarket before arriving on Gabriola.

BC Liquor Store Gabriola

548 North Road, Gabriola, BC V0R 1X0, Canada

This is the government-run liquor store on Gabriola (lower prices than private stores) if you want to pick up any beverages to enjoy.

Malaspina Galleries (rock formation)

Gabriola Island, BC, Canada

Located in Gabriola Sands Provincial Park just south of the beach and picnic grounds. An amazing naturally sculpted overhanging of sandstone at the edge of the sea - like a frozen wave!

Drumbeg Provincial Park

Gabriola Island, BC, Canada

Drumbeg is close to the Lodge and has a 1 km-long sand and pebble beach with sandstone formations at low tide. Spot bald eagles and harbour seals and go tidepooling! There's also a grassy field, picnic tables and walking trails.

Sandwell Provincial Park

Gabriola Island, BC, Canada

Short walking trail through the woods to a picnic area overlooking a sandy beach. Nice place to swim! At low tide, you can walk down the beach to see a prehistoric petroglyph carved into the sandstone.
