Do you have a registry?

As we’ve already built a home together, we’re lucky enough to have everything we need for our little London flat! Please know that celebrating with us is the best gift and we're so grateful that many of you have traveled across the world. Anything I should know about Gabriola?

Answer

- Weather will likely be 20-25 C but always prepare for rain on the coast! - Please be conscious of Gabriola's limited water supply by taking shorter showers and using makeup wipes. - Bottled drinking water recommended - the tap water is safe to drink but has a salty taste. - Mosquito spray for the evening is a good idea. - Check for fire bans before having a campfire. - Ferries get busy in summer and the Gabriola ferry doesn't take reservations, so check the schedule (bcferries.com) and arrive at the terminal nice and early!

How should I get to and from the Lodge for the wedding?

Answer

We have plenty of parking so if you're staying offsite, you're welcome to leave your vehicle overnight and take one of our shuttles home starting around 10:45 pm - please don't drink and drive. Alternatively, Gabriola Taxi runs until 9pm.

Question

I'm staying in a cabin at the lodge - what should I bring?

Answer

If you're local and bringing a car, please pack bedding such as a fitted sheet, sleeping bag and pillow, plus a towel. We also recommend bug spray and a flashlight or camping lantern as there is no power in the cabins. If space is an issue, let us know and we'll bring some extra bedding and towels for you. As the cabins have no running water, you'll be sharing the washrooms in the ground floor of the main lodge.

I'm staying at the lodge or in the cabins - are any meals provided?

Answer

- Thursday night: Independent dinner - some of us may go to Woodfire or order take-out. - Friday night: Independent dinner while wedding party and family are rehearsing - join us after 7pm for hosted drinks and dessert! - Saturday (wedding day): Hosted - Fully catered with open bar. - Sunday: Hosted - Crepes brunch. Group dinner (pitch in) - BBQ burgers. Breakfast and lunch for Friday and Monday: For lodge and cabin stayers, we'll be doing a Costco run for DIY basic breakfast items (coffee/tea fruit, yogurt, cereals, toast etc.) and lunch (sandwiches, meat, cheese, veggies etc). You're welcome to chip in and share these, or visit one of Gabriola's cafes or restaurants. Also feel free to bring any other favourite snacks and drinks and store them in the lodge kitchen. Drinks: Beer and wine on Friday, all drinks on Saturday, and brunch mimosas on Sunday are hosted. Please BYOB for any other alcoholic drinks you'd like to enjoy on Thursday, Friday or Sunday.

Question

My kids are coming - anything to know?

Answer

We'll have a few things for kids to play with, but please feel free to bring any toys, games or beach toys they like! We have lots of space outside for them to run around and there is a rocky beach area. If you're staying offsite but you want to stay at the party past your little one's bedtime, let one of us know and you're welcome to put them to bed in one of the lodge bedrooms upstairs (if the music downstairs doesn't bother them) and then take a shuttle home a bit later on.
