An annual free to the public festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass boasts its non-commercial roots in the heart of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Challenging the assumptions of what defines American music, the festival features an eclectic lineup of country, soul, folk and more. Artists perform nonstop across six outdoor stages spanning the length of a three day spirited weekend of fun. The event is free to attend and doesn't require tickets! You can bring food and drinks in with you. We recommend going a bit on the earlier side during the day to avoid huge crowds. This festival is an SF tradition and always has the best vibes!
This is one of our favorite hikes in San Francisco and offers some of the most beautiful views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge!
A San Francisco classic, the cable cars are a living piece of history! We recommend taking the Powell/Mason line from Union Square down to Fisherman's Wharf for some truly beautiful SF scenes.
Our favorite San Francisco museum is full of fun experiences for both young and old visitors! We shared one of our very first dates here :) Check out the butterfly garden and albino alligator, Claude!
One of the best things about San Francisco is its diversity of neighborhoods - each little pocket feels totally different! See below for some of our favorites: Inner Richmond: home to the best farmer's market on Clement Street on Sunday mornings, as well as Mandalay Restaurant and Burma Superstar, the best Burmese food! (get the tea leaf salad, you won't regret it) Inner Sunset: 9th& Irving Street boasts many cute cafes and restaurants, and its close proximity to Golden Gate Park makes it the perfect spot for lunch or dinner after a day of exploring! The Haight: check out Haight Street along the Panhandle for the best vintage shopping in town! The Mission: for the best Mexican food in town, check out the Mission! There is constant debate over where the best burrito in town is, but El Farolito and La Taqueria are two of the restaurants most often listed. Take a stroll along the shops on Valencia street and eat your burrito in Mission Dolores park with a great view of the SF skyline!
