Please DO NOT bring any outside alcohol beverages to the wedding. We will have a cash bar for everyone to enjoy! Please no pets! :)
Eric and I met through my cousins, Robyn and Brandon. Eric used to live with Brandon in Mitchell, South Dakota. While participating in wedding shenanigans for Brandon and Sarah, he met Robyn. Robyn was living in Vegas and I had been traveling to spend some quality cousin time... A LOT! On one trip, after the Block Party Wedding, Robyn told me about Eric, and thought we needed to meet up. Somewhere between me traveling to Vegas and Robyn telling me about Eric, she put the wheels in motions. Robyn texted Eric and basically told him to "shoot his shot." In November 2018, after a long day of unsuccessful elk hunting, and maybe a couple of Busch Lights he sent a spontaneous "hey :)" through Facebook Messenger. This is where the REAL story begins. When I got his message, I stalked him on FB a little, and started thinking to myself, "this guy is cute", "ohh he lives in Wyoming, and loves his family". Eric was EVERY GIRLS DREAM. I was a little shy - I know... SHOCKING! It took a couple of weeks to send a little " Well hello there ;)". We Facebook messaged, exchanged phone numbers, snapchats, and followed each other on the necessary social media sites. We went on our first date on December 9th, 2018. We ate pizza and drank beer at a local brewery in Douglas. We enjoyed the snow falling in front of the "Santalope", and I learned he was more amazing in person than I had imagine... A PERFECT GENTLEMAN! Throughout our 3 years of dating, we made it through being road warriors (visiting each other in Douglas and Torrington almost every weekend), meeting the families, becoming golf partners, and best friends. Finally in June of 2021, I accepted a teaching position in Torrington and we became roommates. God truly knew we needed each other, and I believe we were both created to love each other fiercely.
For the past year and a half, I have been giving not so subtle hints that I was ready to be engaged and get married. Through this time, I have learned that certain things have to be Eric's idea, his way, and his plan. While thinking I was helping my cause, I just prolonged it. FYI... Eric not only asked my dad for my hand in marriage, but he also asked my brothers, Josh and Jerad. December 25th, 2021 will forever be one of my favorite days. Nothing is sweeter than sitting with family on Christmas morning, watching the littles opening and playing with their new toys. Or at least that's what I thought. While celebrating, laughing, and maybe a shot or two of whiskey, Eric announced that he had one more gift. This is when he got down on one knee in front of my family, and asked me to marry him. Not going to lie, I was shocked, surprised, and didn't think it was real. Once I realized it was, I quickly said "YES!" and the rest is history.
