Travel Note
We love Vermont and we think you will too. On this page you'll find a range of travel tips and places to stay. A few things that will be helpful to know: Burlington is VT's biggest "city" (really a college town). It's where Nell's parents live and where she attended middle and high school (Go Seahorses). One of the biggest draws of our wedding venue is its proximity to Burlington. Burlington is a special place with a lake to swim in, pedestrian streets to roam, a happening music scene, and more delicious restaurants to try than you'll have time for. Justin performed there at The Flynn Theater on his first national tour when he was 18 and he still remembers Church Street in the snow. The wedding itself is at Grand Isle Lake House (25 minutes from Burlington). There are lots of B&Bs on Grand Isle itself and there are also AirBnBs and camping nearby. If you choose to stay in Burlington there will be more options for accommodations at more price points.
Flight
This is the closest most convenient option to fly into though sometimes you can find more affordable prices by flying into Plattsburgh, Boston or Montreal. Boston is 3 hours away and there are frequent bus options if you don't want to rent a car. Montreal is about 2 hours away and similarly has frequent bus options into Burlington. It's possible to get a rental car at the Burlington airport, or Uber and Lyft are readily available.
Train
Taking the Amtrak up to Vermont is another excellent option for travel. You'll want to get off at Essex Junction Station. From there it's about a 15 minute car ride to Burlington, Vermont. For folks coming from Philly: be prepared for a long but beautiful ride (it's about 9 hours).
House Or Rental
For adventurous guests, Grand Isle State Park is an 8-minute drive from the wedding site. There are 4 cabins available to rent in the park, that start at $50/night. This is a wonderful option for people looking to soak up the VT summer vibes.
