There is Bird Island on Sunset Beach.
Bird Island is an uninhabited island at the west end of Sunset Beach, NC. It's about 1.5 miles NE of the beach.
 Also there is the Kindred Spirit Mailbox on the way. It's a 1 mile walk and you can write in the notebook your deepest thoughts or secrets. Jason and I visited on our first visit to Sunset Beach a month after we met. You can walk all the way to the end of the beach and see edge of N. Myrtle Beach. That is about 3 miles out. Basically a 6 mile serene walk.
