3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for a casual pool day to kick off the wedding weekend! We’ll be hanging out at one of the resort pools (exact location TBD) for anyone who wants to relax, swim, or soak up some sun before the official festivities start. After the pool party, feel free to grab dinner at one of the many restaurants on site (we recommend making reservations) and independently explore the resort.
8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Come ready to laugh, celebrate, and maybe get a little turmeric on you! The Haldi ceremony is a joyful tradition meant to bless us with good luck, happiness, and a radiant wedding-day glow. Below are a few of the traditions involved in this event: Ganesh Puja: This is a prayer to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, to ensure a smooth and successful wedding and marriage. Grah Shanti: This is a traditional home blessing ceremony where our families come together to offer prayers for peace, prosperity, and harmony as we begin our new life together. Haldi: This is a tradition where family and friends apply turmeric paste to the bride and groom. Turmeric is considered auspicious in Indian culture and is believed to ward off negative energy and bring blessings. The yellow color symbolizes prosperity, purity, and new beginnings. Lunch will be provided after the ceremony in the outdoor terrace next to the gazebo. The gazebo itself is air-conditioned and shaded.
6:00 pm - 10:30 pm
The Sangeet is a fun night filled with music and dancing. Our close friends and family will be also be performing choreographed dances to kick off the night. Come ready to eat, drink, and dance the night away! The event will be outdoors so please dress accordingly. The venue is in a garden that is next to the beach, so maybe rethink stilettos. After the Sangeet, we will keep the party going at one of the two resort nightclubs (exact location TBD).
9:00 am - 2:00 pm
There are multiple parts to a Hindu Gujarati wedding ceremony. Here's a breakdown: - Baraat: Neil's friends and family will dance their way to the venue. Neil will arrive to the venue on horseback, where Nishita's family will be waiting to greet him. - Kanyadaan: Nishita's father places her hand in Neil's, signifying a shared responsibility of both families for the well-being of the couple. - Mangal Phera: The couple circles a sacred fire (Havan) four times, symbolizing their vows to each other - Mangalsutra and Sindoor: The groom ties a sacred necklace (Mangalsutra) around the bride's neck, and applies sindoor (vermilion) on her forehead, signifying their marital bond. - Blessings: The couple seeks blessings from their friends and family. Lunch will be served at the Lake Terrace, next to the Barracuda Beach.
