Our story began long before we knew it would be our story. We first met in kindergarten, both attending the same school, but we didn’t exactly hit it off. In fact, we hardly got along. Soham, the popular athlete with a reputation for being the life of the school, and Neha, studious "nerd" class topper were worlds apart. While he excelled on the sports field, she preferred the quiet of books and the world of academics. We crossed paths over the years, but it wasn’t until tail end of schooling years that something shifted. What started as a fleeting crush soon turned into a deeper admiration. Still, we remained at odds for much of our school life, each of us in our own little world, completely unaware that the spark of something special was quietly growing beneath the surface. Then came March 15th, 2008 — Suddenly, all the years of teasing, tutu- main main, and differences were behind us. Even though we were in a long-distance relationship from the start, that didn’t stop us from growing closer with every phone call, email, scheduled skype calls, and much awaited college breaks to visit and be with each other. What began as a simple school crush evolved into a lifelong connection that neither of us could ignore. Thirteen years of dating later, after navigating the miles, time differences, and everything in between, we’ve come to realize that sometimes, opposites truly do attract. And now, after all this time, we are ready to take the next step in our journey — not just as partners, but as best friends who have grown together through it all. From the hallways of school to the highways of life, our love story continues to unfold, and we couldn’t be more excited for what comes next.
