About 45 minutes, by car.
Booking a car beforehand is the best option for going anywhere far. If you're just going back and forth to wedding villa, you can easily walk—it's around five minutes from Grand Imperiale/Hotel Posta. (There will also be shuttles to and from wedding events.) If you're going around Como to sightsee in the town, we recommend taking the ferry from the dock near Grand Imperiale.
If you're staying at Grand Imperiale or Hotel Posta the villa is within walking distance. Just take a right when leaving either hotel and the villa is on the right side around the corner. If you're not staying within walking distance, keep in mind there is no Uber in Como, you'll need to find a car service or taxi to arrange to pick up/drop off or check the shuttle schedule provided upon arrival.
The majority of events are being held outside—in the morning (temps in the mid-80s) and evening (temps in the mid-60s). Double check the weather when considering what to pack!
Thursday night - Welcome Dinner: Desi or Western Cocktail. Have a little fun with it! Friday - Sangeet/Mehendi: Desi or Western Cocktail. A nice Kurtha or a a suit for this event is perfect for men. Festive cocktail attire for ladies. (Make sure you can dance in it!) Saturday Morning - Muhurtham: Desi Traditional or Western Formal Saturday Evening - Nikah & Reception: Black Tie Optional. Your best suit, tux, gown, or Desi wear. Think Bollywood meets Hollywood glam!
Not at all! There is no break between the Nikah and Reception, so come in your best formal wear for the whole evening.
We don't recommend wearing stilettos since most of the events will be held on or near grass and gravel.
Check out beautiful Como! You can easily do this by taking the ferry nearby Grand Hotel Imperiale to see Como, Bellagio and the other beautiful towns on the lake. Or take a trip to Lugano, Switzerland—a quaint town on the other side of the lake. It's about a 45 minute drive from Moltrasio, and offers stunning views and splendid parks.
There's a plethora of wonderful restaurants in Moltrasio, and nearby Cernobbio. Some recommendations: **Ristorante La Baia di Moltrasio (Seafood/Pasta):** down the street from Grand Imperiale and Hotel Posta; take a left when you leave either hotel. **Trattoria del Glicine (Pasta):** in the hills of Cernobbio; you will need a car or car service. **Trattoria del Fagiano (Pasta):** You'll need a car to get here; not far from Hotel Posta. **La Veranda at Hotel Posta (Pasta):** It's homemade, enough said. (Can you ever have enough pasta?) **Namaste (Indian):** close to the Hilton; you'll need a car to get here.
No gifts, boxed or otherwise! Just your presence and blessings are all we request.
George and Amal were both ver hurt they didn't receive an invite, but they do live up the street so feel free to pop over for tea.
