Rahul and Neha’s story began back in 2020. Their mutual family friend was driving Neha and her mom to the Philly Airport for their flight back to Tampa. While in the car, Anu aunty (the family friend) kept alluding to someone who could be a good match for Neha. However, Neha was pretty sure she could find love without the help of her family and friends. Little did she know, Anu had that same conversation with Rahul just a few days prior. Rahul, much like Neha, was also not interested in meeting someone through family. But Anu was adamant, and after some persistence she convinced Rahul to give it a shot. Rahul reluctantly agreed to text Neha and used his comedic charm to break the ice. Rahul asked her if it was okay that he was shorter than her because he was only 5’6” and Anu aunty had told him that she was quite tall. Upon reading that text, Neha decided to completely ghost Rahul for almost 24 hours until she was finally informed that it was a joke by Veena (Neha’s best friend and Anu aunty’s niece). Finding the whole situation hilarious, Neha decided this might actually lead to something. They continued to text, call, and facetime for the next 5 months without ever meeting in person. Then in March 2021, Rahul worked up the courage to make the trip out to Boston to visit Neha for the weekend. The trip went pretty well, because the next time they met was a month later for Neha's birthday in Tampa where Rahul met her whole family. Over the next few years, Rahul moved from Houston to Newtown to Jersey City/Hoboken. Their love for each other, food, music, and standup comedy, helped them persevere through the distance. They are now happily living in Boston where Rahul is working for a biotech company and Neha is finishing her Endodontics Residency. Their dream is to eventually be DINKS in New York City and then settle down near family and friends in Florida or the Northeast.
