Things To Do

Here a few recommendations for DC area!

National Mall

Washington, DC

Visit iconic landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. There is a limited amount of restaurants/food around. There are food trucks, some are known to overcharge. We recommend go towards Chinatown or Wharf to find food options.

Smithsonian Museums

Don’t miss the National Museum of Natural History, American History, Air and Space Museum, or the National Gallery of Art. Smithsonian museums are all free!

Georgetown Waterfront Park

3303 Water Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

Walk along the Potomac, enjoy waterfront dining, or rent a kayak! M street is nearby - blends historic charm with upscale shopping, trendy restaurants, and cobblestone sidewalks, perfect for strolling and people-watching.

The Wharf DC

760 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

The Wharf is a vibrant waterfront destination in Washington, D.C., offering a mile-long stretch along the Potomac River filled with restaurants, shops, parks, and entertainment venues. Visitors can enjoy live music, dine at diverse eateries, explore the historic Maine Avenue Fish Market, and take in stunning river views. Accessible by Metro, water taxi, and bike, it's a lively hub for both locals and tourists.

Great Falls

Great Falls, VA

Beautiful views of waterfalls. Potomac River crashes over dramatic rocks and cliffs, offering scenic views, easy hikes, and a peaceful break from the city. We recommend Great Falls (Virginia and Maryland side are different, both are great!). The view for VA is much more accessible from the parking lot and the MD one requires a 10 minute walk.

Hiking

1. Billy Goat (Great Falls, Maryland side) - Pretty rocky but fun! 2. River Trail (Great Falls, Virginia side) - Less rocky, elevation gain 3. Harpers Ferry (West Virginia) - - Loudon Heights: Usually less crowded, steep - Maryland Heights Trails: Slightly more crowded, less steep than Loudon, has historical features along the trail - Both hikes have beautiful views of the Harpers Ferry town and the Shenandoah River

Shenandoah National Park

VA

Shenandoah National Park, located in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, offers over 200,000 acres of protected wilderness, scenic overlooks along Skyline Drive, and over 500 miles of hiking trails, including part of the Appalachian Trail. It’s perfect for nature lovers seeking waterfalls, wildlife, mountain views, and peaceful escapes just hours from D.C. There are also several gorgeous cabins available through Airbnb.

National Aquarium

501 East Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21202

The National Aquarium in Baltimore features 17,000+ animals, immersive exhibits like Shark Alley and rainforest habitats, and stunning aquatic displays. It's a top family-friendly destination in the Inner Harbor.
