No, unless you invitation specifies. We wanted to able to invite our closest family and friends with keeping many necessary factors in mind when making the guest list. We hope you can understand.
We recommend staying in either Lisbon or Cascais, depending on the experience you’re looking for. Estoril is the closest option to the venue, though it has fewer attractions compared to Lisbon and Cascais. If you don't mind commuting a little bit to the venue, stay in Cascais or Lisbon instead. If you are planning on staying in Lisbon, we recommend staying near the city center. The best neighborhoods to consider are Chiado, Alfama, Avenida, Bica (usually a bit more budget-friendly option!), and Príncipe Real. Bairro Alto is also very centrally located; however, it can be a bit noisy due to the many bars that stay open late into the night. Here are a few convenient ways to get around Portugal! Ride Sharing: Ridesharing apps like Uber and Bolt are widely available and are typically the easiest way to get around - especially for airport transfers and travel to and from the weekend’s events. Estoril is approximately a 20-30 minute drive from Lisbon Airport, depending on traffic. Public Transportation: Portugal has a very reliable public transportation system, especially within major cities like Lisbon. The Lisbon Metro connects directly to the airport, and websites like Rome2Rio.com can help you map out the most efficient routes for your journey. Car Rentals: While a rental car is not necessary for the wedding weekend, it can be a great option if you plan to explore more of Portugal before/after. We do not recommend renting a car if you plan to stay primarily in Lisbon, Cascais, Estoril, or Porto, as these cities are busy and parking can be limited. For convenience, major rental companies - including Avis, Europcar, Goldcar, Guerin, Hertz, and Sixt - are located in Lisbon Airport’s arrivals terminal just after customs.
The venue is about a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Lisbon. There are hotels closer to the venue, but if you decide to stay in Lisbon, you can take the train or a vehicle to the venue. The best way to get there would be via car - there are plenty of Ubers in Lisbon but Lyft does not operate here. If you are looking to stay as close as possible to the venue, we recommend staying in either Estoril or Cascais.
Yes, there is a private parking lot that holds around 20 cars and there is plenty of street parking.
Please arrive by 4:30PM. Champagne and live music will be there to greet you.
All guests will head to the back of the Forte for cocktail hour to enjoy an open bar, passed hors d'oeuvres and stunning views overlooking the ocean.
For the Welcome Party: We recommend using a ride-sharing option (such as Uber or Bolt), as these are widely available and very affordable in Portugal. For the Wedding Day: There will not be any shuttles or wedding transportation scheduled. We again recommend using a ride-sharing option OR taking the train*. *You can easily take a train to the venue. If you are staying in central Lisbon, head to the Cais do Sodré train station and purchase a ticket at the kiosk for Estoril. Take the above-ground train toward Cascais. The ride takes approximately 35-40 minutes and follows the coastline (offering beautiful water views along the way!). Exit at the “Estoril” station (please note: do not get off at São Pedro do Estoril or São João do Estoril - Estoril is the correct stop). From there, it is a short 5-minute walk to the venue. You will see the beachside castle on the left-hand side as the train pulls into the station.
