What happens when a Californian boy spends an exchange semester in the Netherlands and meets a Dutch girl? That's right, they fall in love. After meeting in December 2014 in Utrecht, it was undeniable - there was a spark. Hooray for living in a time where the internet provides you with Facetime and the ability to text each other non-stop. A summer was spent together in 2015, and an exchange to UCSB followed for Cat in 2016. Throw in another intercontinental move for Neal in 2018, where he came back to Utrecht for his MSc degree (but let's face it, mainly his future Mrs.). Many adventures followed: living together in a tiny flat in the center, going on holidays, finishing studies, switching careers, becoming aunt and uncle, there was one big adventure still to unfold: the adventure of an official life together. On a beach on the holiday island of Ameland, with parents hiding in the dunes with backpacks full of champagne, it finally happened: The. Ultimate. Question. And Cat could not say anything but yes (because, let's face it, the poor woman had been waiting 10+ years at this point). Which brings us to our wedding, on June 27th. A year and two days after that day on Ameland, and a day we can't wait to celebrate with all of you.
