Brie and Kevin have always been sentimental about family. We are hoping to collect YOUR favourite recipe- the one that will make us think of you- to compile into our first family recipe book. How does that work? 1. You choose your recipe. Whether an original, an old family recipe, or your go-to party dish, the dish you choose will always make us think of you. There are no rules here, you choose your family favourite. 2. Make sure it's clear and legible. 3. Please include any special directions to make it just like you do. 4. Bonus points if you include a picture of the dish or you with the dish. 5. Send your recipe and picture to: naylorfamco@gmail.com BEFORE July 1, 2026 Include any information that you think is important! On our wedding day, we will hopefully have compiled enough recipes that you and your family can sign your page ensuring your legacy and memory lives on for generations to come. Plus, we'll make sure everyone gets their digital copy to access anytime, any place. That way, no matter where we are in the world, we will always carry a piece of each other.
Borders had finally opened, our circles were still small, and Brie's grandparents, Helen and Eugene, were insistent it was time to get back out into the world. Online dating was the safest space to date during the pandemic. Thirty-four kilometers away, Brie's expanded radius suggested a handsome guy in construction located on the opposite side of the border. Kevin had recently moved back to Lopez Island with the goal of a new beginning. A small island provided limited options for a love match. This remained true until their profiles crossed each others screens. Kevin's scroll resulted in a super-like that drew Brie's attention to an interesting American with similarities that would at least result in like-minded conversation. They matched on August 19, 2021— simultaneously messaging each other, "hello." One hour into texting, Brie asked Kevin if he wanted to chat on the phone. Their first call lasted 8 hours. A connection was clear. The calls that followed were similar in length and have never ceased to fall short for conversation or laughter. Days later, Kevin began planning his visit. With the border re-opened, you could cross into Canada through land and marine channels. Kevin first tried to cross through the Peace Arch without success. Three days later, Kevin sent Brie a photo and said, "I bought a boat." They made plans to meet days later on September long-weekend. Each without expectation, Kevin rolled into Sidney's Van Isle Marina to meet Brie on September 4, 2021. They had instant chemistry. Their first date lasted three days and neither of them wanted it to end. Kevin has been holding Brie's hand from the moment they met, and neither of them have any intention of letting go. Shy of their fifth anniversary, on August 8, 2026, Kevin and Brie will stand in front of their family and friends to declare their love and begin their next chapter as husband and wife.
