Christ the Redeemer
Visit the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue on the mountaintop in Rio. Visible from our wedding venue, but you can also take a train up the mountains to see it close up and enjoy a view of Rio from the top.
Sugarloaf Mountain
Also visible from our wedding venue, Sugarloaf Mountain is one of Rio's most famous landmarks, offering stunning panoramic views of the city, beaches, and the Guanabara Bay. Make sure to reserve/buy tickets online ahead of time.
Downtown
Shop, eat, and experience Brazilian street life in Rio’s colorful downtown. The picture is Selarón Steps (Escadaria Selarón): A colorful and iconic staircase located in the Lapa neighborhood. Lapa is where samba was born, and every night there are great parties around the area. Check out the iconic Arcos da Lapa too!
Parque Lage
Take a stroll through this nice park/gardens surrounding an old mansion. This is also where you can begin the hike up to the Christ the Redeemer statue.
Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow)
Cool interactive museum with unique architecture that was opened alongside the Olympics in 2016. Best to reserve tickets ahead of time as it gets busy.
Copacabana Fort
Standing guard over the southern shores of Copacabana Beach and affording views of both Copacabana and Ipanema. The Copacabana Fort is a former military base. Built in the 20th century, the fortress now houses a military museum and historic artifacts, but the main draw is the fort’s two cafés with sweeping beach views.
Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon
Enjoy a leisurely walk or bike ride around this picturesque lagoon. The surrounding parks and cafés make it a great spot for a relaxing afternoon.
Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro

Beaches
During your stay in Rio, we recommend visiting the beaches of Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana. Each has its own unique charm: Leblon is calm and sophisticated, perfect for relaxing; Ipanema is lively, with a youthful vibe and lots of energy; and Copacabana, the most famous, offers a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of entertainment options.
