All travelers to Mexico require a valid passport. Please ensure that your passport expires after 6 months from the date of entry into Mexico. Mexico has no visa requirement for US Citizens, but you will be asked to fill out a FMM form (Mexico's visitor permit) on the plane or once you land. Indian Citizens will need to obtain a tourist visa unless they have a valid US Visa or are permanent residents of Canada or UK. Due to the strong tides on the Pacific side, the beach is not swimmable here. Please be careful especially with children as there are rip tides and strong currents. There are 3 swimmable beaches: Medano Beach, Chilleno Beach and Pamilla Beach. Please make sure it is safe to swim before entering the ocean.
The temperature will be in the low 70's at night and low 90's during the day.
The resort takes all major credit cards and US Dollars. Most stores will also do the same even when shopping downtown in the markets.
Yes, you can bring real jewelry for the wedding with you but make sure to keep in your carry on suitcase and if customs opens it, let them know you are there for a wedding. Keep a copy of the wedding invitation as well in case additional proof is required.
When traveling internationally, each person / family is allowed to bring $10,000 maximum before having to declare for duty. It is best to bring limited cash and use credit cards but if you need to, try to bring no more than $9,900. This applies to going into Mexico and coming back into the USA also.
