The barat is the groom's procession to the wedding venue. He will arrive on a Ghodi, or white horse, accompanied by family members, groomsmen, and friends known as baraatis. The music and dance during the Barat sets the mood for the rest of the marriage event, with songs playing from a mobile DJ and Dhol, drum, as the groom makes his way through the procession. Once at the venue, the groom will meet the bride's family and friends. The bride is not included in the Barat as it is solely to welcome the Groom and his family and friends to the marriage site.

The Shaadi, wedding, will be culturally Indian and friendly to all religions. It will last approximately 1 hour. An explanation of ceremony will be provided upon arrival. We are excluding children from this event to reduce potential distractions and to ensure an enjoyable time for all. A children's room will be set up at the venue, which will include toys/activities, a projector screen for movies, kid friendly food, and appropriate supervision.

The reception timeline will be similar to a traditional American wedding reception with introductions of the family and bridal party, speeches from the best man and maid of honor, the couple's first dance, and an open dance floor for the guests. There will also be multiple dancing performances by professional dancers, performers, and family. The dinner menu will include Indian food with both vegetarian and meat options, wedding cake and Indian desserts.
