In August of 2021, Tom and Rachel met on Hinge. Yes, Hinge. They wish it was organically but they were destined to have a modern love story! Tom had just moved from Syracuse to Raleigh (to escape the cold). Rachel was already there, having moved back after graduating college. Their first date was in early December. It would have been sooner if Rachel hadn't thought he was "too nice". She quickly realized a nice guy was exactly what she needed! In December of 2021, they had their first date at Lynwood Brewing Concern. They grabbed a drink and talked for hours. They connected over their love for travel, being outdoors, food, cooking, and reality TV (specifically Master Chef and Survivor). On that first date Tom stated, "you will be a Bills fan". Well, he was right! The next 3 years consisted of fun nights out in Raleigh, weekend getaways, and family vacations. Years of love, laughter and shared memories led to the big moment. In April of 2025, Tom got down on one knee and asked Rachel to marry him. It was the easiest yes, as who wouldn't want to spend forever with their best friend?! Rachel and Tom are so excited and look forward to celebrating with everyone this fall!
