The Village at Grand Traverse Commons
This is awesome! The commons is an old historic hospital asylum that was founded in 1882 by Gordon Lloyd who believed in a non traditional medical approach. He believed in the humane treatment of mental illness. He believed that if patients were surrounded by a beautiful environment, from the architecture of the campus grounds, their emotional and mental state would be uplifted as apposed to locked up and in shackles. I wish I was alive then to witness this! I think this is amazing! Since then, the hospital has been renovated into beautiful shops and restuarants and even offers tours to give you a journey through the rich history of the grounds!
Downtown Traverse City
Go check out our beautiful downtown Traverse City filled with amazing shops and the BEST restaurants! Highly recommend Bubbas Bar and Grill. Savanah worked at this restaurant throughout highschool and college ;)
Historic Fishtown
One of our favorite little towns just outside of Traverse City. There is a lot of beautiful and rich history here. You must visit the Village Cheese Shanty while you are there! They have the best sandwiches in the world! Call ahead to request their pretzel bread for your sandwhich! It goes very fast ;)
Elk Rapids Public Beach Access
Super cute little town with a really nice beach area for kids and families. Savanah grew up coming here with her family!
Buchan's Blueberry Hill
The cutest blueberry farm with the BEST ice cream :) Also you cannot beat the view of the bay on the way out there!
