ROOM BLOCK UPDATE

Hello friends and family, We are very excited to see you in just about a month. We know that some of you were interested in using our room block at the DoubleTree Hotel Portland, but unfortunately, we are not going to have a room block anymore. The planner we were working with at the hotel got fired, and we were not notified of that, so our negotiations did not get passed on to anyone. When we were able to get in contact with the hotel again, they were regretful that the best they could offer was not sufficient for us and did not come at a savings to our guests. We truly apologize for this inconvenience. We will still be staying at the DoubleTree, as will a number of our guests, so we still encourage checking there. We find their rooms comfortable and appreciate their friendly customer service. Besides the DoubleTree, other nearby hotels that we know to be good are: The Jupiter Hotel, Jupiter NEXT, Hotel Eastlund, and Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center. There are also Airbnb options in the area. We encourage staying on the east side of the Willamette River for convenience, but downtown is right across the river. Despite what you might hear from the President, Portland (including downtown) is vibrant and not a place you need to be scared of, and you can safely stay in any of these areas. Ubers and Lyfts are easy to get in the city, so while being closer to the Redd will certainly be convenient, if you are willing to spend a little time in the car, that's alright. You will encounter traffic on your way to the venue if you stay downtown. There will be plenty of libations at the wedding, and we will be going late. If you are interested in celebrating with us, please plan accordingly. Both of us have stayed in hotels all over Portland and certainly know the area well, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions about lodging. We are happy to assist. We apologize again for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Nathan & Kien
