The Proposal

After a short 7 years...

This love story began at the University of Portland after Dominique & Nathan were introduced by a mutual friend. The couple quickly took on long distance as Dominique embarked on her study abroad journey in Western Australia, and then the rest was history. After 7 years of loving one another, the two love birds were set to go on a trip in March, 2020 to Isla Mujeres in Mexico, a rather special vacation where Nathan planned to finally take the step to forever and propose to Dominique surrounded by beautiful coastline and more importantly her family. Alas, you know how the 2020 story goes, and the trip was cancelled due to the Global Pandemic. But not even Covid 19 was going to stop this love story. Dominique and Nathan quickly diverted their trip to Palm Springs, where they could safely shelter in place in warmer weather and a pool. After a road trip down from Portland, the two found refuge by the pool as they celebrated their 7 year anniversary together. Nathan had the idea one day to hike at Joshua Tree as it was still open and a safe activity for the lovebirds. After having to almost drag Dominique up the trail, the two made it to the top of the Warren Peak Summit, a gorgeous view of the rugged beauty that Joshua Tree has to offer. As Dominique was occupied with documenting the stunning views they were surrounded by, it went unnoticed that Nathan had began to write a note in the travel log stationed at Warren Peak. Scribbled at the bottom of this log was a very big question, followed by Nathan on one knee holding his great grandmother's ring. At this point you can gather what happened, as Dominique said YES! And now the two are ready to tie the knot!
