Our story started on our very first day at work at USAA. Carli spotted Nate, the cute guy standing behind her in line as they waited to get their ID badges. On our 4th day, we happened to walk into the building at the same time and struck up a conversation, which led to us sitting next to each other in class. From there, everything just clicked. We couldn’t stop laughing and joking around together. It wasn’t long before we realized we had something special. For our first date, we took our dogs, Jax and Winter, to the dog park, where they instantly became best friends. It was a perfect day, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend time together.

Each day for a month before our engagement, Nate wrote down a different reason he knew he wanted to marry Carli. After our anniversary dinner, he asked Carli to walk down a hallway where these notes were hung up, so she could read them as she walked down. At the end, Nate was waiting on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring in a box he made by hand, and asked Carli to be his forever. Obviously, she said yes!
