"A favorite memory was when we went to the Boundary Waters, it was the first time I went canoeing there. The very first day we broke not only one of our two paddles but ALSO a canoe seat. We fixed them both with duct tape. The paddle was very heavy the rest of the trip. Also on that trip, after dark one night we were picking crawfish, and Nathan came face to face with a big hissing snapping turtle, he freaked out and jumped backwards then slipped and fell on the rocky shore. "Tough to choose, but it has to be the duck hunting trip up at the Loon's Nest. We went hunting on a lake back in the woods and that's where I shot my first duck. It was sitting in the water right in front of us. That's where Nathan and his dad explained the origin of the term "sitting duck". A close second is taco night with Nathan's Uncle John.
