Nate and I grew up on opposite sides of town and went to different Elementary and Middle School's. We had heard of eachother, and eventually met through mutual friends the Summer going into High School. We dated other people, and remained friends until everything changed Junior year Statistics class, where Nate became my voluntary "tutor". We started talking constantly, realized we liked each other as more than friends, and the rest is history.
On a Monday, a week before my annual family cabin trip, Nate and I are packing our bags when he tells me that we have reservations at a sushi restaurant Wednesday night. I didn't think much of it, just that I was thrilled he made a reservation, and especially at a sushi restaurant (my absolute favorite food). Wednesday comes and we are at the restaurant, when I realize he brought his bulky sunglasses case in with him from the car. Being that he usually wouldn't do this, I was suspicious, but I didn't say anything. Fast forward to the end of dinner, were driving alongside Bde Maka Ska, and he says we should take a little walk around the lake. We walked about a hundred feet and found a grassy spot by the water to watch the sunset, when I hear Nate saying things behind me. I couldn't tell you exactly what was said because I blacked out for a moment, but when I turned around, he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him. For some strange reason the first thing out of my mouth was "Are you sure??" Once I gathered myself, the next thing I said was a big fat YES. It was extremely special and romantic and a moment neither of us will ever forget.
