The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, located in Divide, is a must-visit for animal lovers. This sanctuary is dedicated to the preservation and education of wolves and other wild canids. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, observe these majestic animals up close, and learn about their role in the ecosystem. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with nature and experience the beauty of Colorado’s wildlife. Reservations are required. We would highly recommend booking a tour while you visit. It is such a good experience!
Pikes Peak is one of the few 14,000-foot peaks in the U.S. you can drive to the summit of. The steep, toll road offers stunning views, but it can be uncomfortable for those afraid of heights, as some sections lack guardrails. Still, the panoramic vistas from the top make it a must-see destination for those up for the adventure.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is one of our favorite places to spend time together. It was voted the #2 Best Zoo in North America, it’s home to awesome exhibits like Rocky Mountain Wild, where you can get up close with Colorado’s wildlife. We love coming here to explore, feed the giraffes, and just enjoy the views—it's always a fun day out. It is also the only zoo on the side of a mountain, keep the altitude in mind! The zoo does require advance reservations, so if you do choose to visit plan accordingly!
Café Leo is a charming local favorite in Woodland Park, known for its warm atmosphere, delicious breakfast options, and top-notch coffee. We started coming to Café Leo early in our relationship, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots. We still have breakfast here almost every weekend. The pastries are to die for (plenty of gluten free options), and the staff is incredible!
Tucked away on the west side of Colorado Springs, Colorado Mountain Brewery on 21st Street is a local favorite known for its warm, lodge-style atmosphere, handcrafted beers, and Colorado-inspired menu. It’s a great spot to experience a true taste of the region—especially if you’re curious to try Colorado bison! This is also where we had our very first blind date, thanks to our amazing friends Lorianne and Fish. Both of us thought seriously about canceling or postponing—but thankfully, we showed up. That night turned into the start of something pretty incredible, and this cozy brewery has held a special place in our hearts ever since.
Garden of the Gods is a stunning, free-to-the-public park featuring impressive red rock formations and breathtaking views of Pikes Peak. Easily accessible from both Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, it’s a perfect spot for exploring nature. Just a heads-up—since it sits at a high elevation, we recommend taking it easy if you’re traveling from out of state to adjust to the altitude. Whether you're hiking, sightseeing, or simply enjoying the scenery, it’s a must-visit destination.
