Wedding Party

Amanda Stevenson

Matron of Honor

Emily and Amanda met their freshman year at Messiah University while living in the same dorm and playing ultimate frisbee. They have roomed together at school for the past three years and have been co-captains of the frisbee team together for two years. Her favorite memories with Amanda were all of the late night talks, giggles and bubble blowing throughout their entire junior year. More recently, they have bonded over all things wedding, since their two weddings are only one month apart from the other.

Matthew Mowen

Best Man

Nathan and Matthew met their freshman year at Lancaster Bible College living in the same dorm hall. Nathan credits Matthew as being someone who provides wise spiritual counsel and encouragement in his life while also never failing to make him laugh. Nathan would describe Matthew as the life of the party and the funniest person he knows. His favorite memory with Matt is making a "bizza smoothie" in which they combined a Guinness Stout with oven pizza in a blender.

Nadia Huggard

Bridesmaid

Emily and Nadia met during Emily's junior year at Messiah University. While working at the dining hall, they realized they had a lot in common, such as playing club soccer and ultimate frisbee on campus. They quickly became close friends and could talk for hours on end, sometimes hanging out until very late in the night. Her favorite memory with Nadia was playing spikeball on the beach and arcade basketball in Cape Cod, MA during Emily's family vacation last summer.

Connor Lubsen

Groomsman

Nathan and Connor met while living overseas in Europe. They attended Black Forest Academy together during the 9th & 10th grades. Nathan would tell you that Connor would be his first call in any emergency or celebration. Truly the ying to his yang, what makes their friendship so unique has been the contrasting personalities that each complements the other. Nathan's fondest memory of Connor is their field trip to Strasbourg, France in which they indulged themselves in both French pastries and the usual amount of misbehavior.

Molly Higley

Bridesmaid

As sisters, Emily and Molly grew up playing together and as little kids, they enjoyed playing in their pretend sewing shop. One of her favorite memories with Molly was when they decided it would be a good idea to sing the national anthem very loudly and on repeat as they drove all the way to the high school. There was a video, but since this happened in 2015, the video has not been found again. (You should all probably thank us that it is gone.) Molly should also be given some credit for helping to set up Emily and Nathan.

Brady Smith

Groomsman

Nathan and Brady met during Nathan's freshman year at Lancaster Bible College when Brady was his RA. Nathan would describe Brady as the big brother he never had. He has been the friend Nathan can trust for wise life advice and prayer requests consistently. The thing they have most in common is their love for football. Nathan's favorite memory with Brady is their trip to Buffalo for a Bills game in 2019 during which they tailgated pre-game and Nathan received his first speeding ticket post-game.

Olivia Allbee

Bridesmaid

As sisters, Emily and Olivia exhibited the normal amount of sibling bickering and rivalry, but when it came down to it, they make a great team. In any sort of competition, especially athletics, they would team up and usually dominate over everyone else. This could be seen back in their youth group days and even now as they play spikeball or are on the ultimate frisbee field together. One funny memory of the two of them was when they were in early elementary school and in a panic they went to tell their parents about a bomb in the Dick's Sporting Goods bathroom. It turns out that it was just an air freshener, but they were very concerned about the situation.

Jacob Higley

Groomsman

As cousins, Nathan and Jacob spent the majority of family gatherings hurling nerf weapons at one another, throwing the football, or running around outside. Their closeness has grown over the past few years as Nathan worked for Jacob over the Summer of 2020 and Jacob attended Nathan's small group the following Fall and Spring. Set to become Brothers-in-Law, Nathan would describe Jacob as everything you could hope for in a brother: reliable, caring, and witty. Nathan's fondest memory with Jacob is driving golf carts around a campground in the pouring rain.
