Emily and Nathan met in May of 2020 while working part-time at Hawkridge Fulfillment. Nathan was filling in for his sister Hannah for a couple of weeks. After seeing Emily, those couple weeks turned into a couple of months. Nathan was head over heels for her. However, Emily would tell you that the first thought in her head when seeing Nathan was "Oh I guess there's a new employee today" so needless to say, it was not an immediate love connection. They went on a date to Blue Marsh Lake to kayak and followed it with Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Their first date set the tone for what their relationship would become, continuous adventure. On the 4th of July, Emily went to Nathans house and they hiked a trail nearby. There, Nathan asked Emily to be his girlfriend and their relationship officially began. It didn’t take long for Nathan to know she was the type of person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Nathan remembers the moment he began thinking the relationship was something that would last a lifetime. Sitting at the bottom of a waterfall in Ricketts Glen State Park, Emily and Nathan laughed and joked while eating lunch and enjoying the view. Their future life together became more of a “when” instead of an “if” at that moment. Over the next 9 months, their relationship deepened while still maintaining the same aspect of adventure. Some of their favorite memories while dating include Emily teaching Nathan how to ski (semi unsuccessfully), axe throwing, and rock climbing. Over Easter break, they planned to have dinner at JB Dawson's while Emily was in town. Afterward, they drove to an overlook by the Susquehanna River. With help from Nathans friends, the pathway and gazebo were decorated for their arrival at sunset. Nathan proposed to Emily there and they celebrated their engagement with their families soon afterward.
