Nathan and I met in a very 2019 way -- on the dating app Bumble. As we chatted, I was emboldened to ask Nathan out on an actual date past the screens thanks to a friend. He accepted, and we met face-to-face on a cold November night at my dorm room. He drove us to a local Mexican restaurant since it was one of the few sit-down restaurants my small town had to offer. The conversation was great and there was no sense of awkwardness between us. Afterwards, we went to my sorority's winter formal dance together where we hung out with my friends. The dance was kind of lame, so a bunch of us went over to one of my friend's houses to hang out. He stuck it out with me the entire time, driving me everywhere. Nathan got on so well with everyone and it felt like such a normal occurrence and not the first time I had met this guy. He drove me home as the night got late, and I still tease him about not giving me a kiss goodnight just like he teases me about running out of his car to use the bathroom before we could. Either way, I got the kiss in the end.
