This is our favorite place to hike near Denver. They have maps at the trailhead, but don't be fooled! The inclines on this trail can surprise you. Prepare yourself for a serious hike. Located about 30 minutes west of Denver.
One of the most iconic buildings in Denver, this (still functioning!) train station has a wonderful bar, coffee shop, and is where the RTD Light Rail drops you off! How convenient! Our recommendations: Terminal Bar, Pigtrain Coffee, Bloom.
Did you rent a car? If you did, take the day and explore Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, CO. This college town has small businesses, great food, and a beautiful college campus to walk around. The views are iconic and the people are weird. Located about 40 minutes north of Denver.
The town of Golden was founded in the 19th century during Colorado's gold rush (who knew a gold rush occurred outside of California??) It has a downtown that pays homage to the Gold Rush era. It even has the Colorado School of Mines, which was established in 1874.
Want to catch a baseball game? Depending on who is in town, you can get baseball tickets for as low as $16! Perks of living in a city that doesn't go to the World Series!
This permanent pedestrian mall is a great place to grab some lunch, some drinks, and some vintage!
It's no Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, but this museum is still a fantastic way to spend a hot day inside!
This old German homestead was purchased by the government and is a great way to learn about the land grants given to immigrants who were willing to come West. It is 23 acres and a great way to spend the morning. Bring a picnic and find a shady spot! Located about 15 minutes south of Denver and 20 minutes west from the hotel.
If you're heading west of Denver, take some time and tour the brewery that started it all! This iconic Denver attraction allows you to see and taste the beers right in the factory. While its temporarily closed right now due to COVID, keep an eye on their website for when they open!
This is an immersive art exhibit where you can interact with the art. The four story exhibition includes over 70 installations, portal, and rooms dreamed up by 300 creatives. Right in downtown Denver!
Kathy Bates iconically protrayed Molly Brown in the 1997 film Titanic. The house was built in the 1800s, and survived the demolition of historic Denver homes in the 1960s. It is a fantastic place to learn about the history of Denver homes and the life of the woman that survived the Titanic.
