Flight
You can book flights from your city of origin to either Denver International Airport or the regional Eagle-Vail Airport to get into Colorado. DIA is approximately 2 hours east of Vail and is a large airport hub. Eagle-Vail Airport is approximately 30-40 minutes from Vail and is a smaller regional airport that has direct flights from a few cities or from other cities with a layover typically in Denver or Dallas. Once in either airport, you will need ground transportation to Vail either by rental car or shuttle (see below). Epic Mountain Express provides shuttles from both airports. Once you are in Vail, you do not necessarily need a car. There is a free in-town bus that can get you around town easily. Uber and Lyft are occasionally available in town, but cannot be used to and from the airport. 1. From: Denver International Airport Denver is 2 hours east of Vail and will require you either to rent a car or take a shuttle. If you decide to take a shuttle from the Denver Airport, Epic Mountain Express is the least expensive option ($72 per person, one way). This is for door-to-door service within Vail and Beaver Creek.
