It's been a long time coming!

Nate and Jackie met long before dating apps, awkward first dates, or adult responsibilities were a thing. They first crossed paths in elementary school at Crow Elementary, where Nate also became Jackie’s very first boyfriend in sixth grade. That relationship did not last forever, and they still disagree on who broke up with who, but it did start something that never really went away. After the breakup, they stayed friends through high school, even while attending different schools. Life moved on, teenage relationships came and went, and after high school they found themselves spending time together again. What started as casual hangouts quickly turned into playing cat and mouse for a month (or two...or three...), until by the fall of 2020, Jackie finally fell in love and Nate was officially in it for the long haul. Their relationship has survived long distance, law school, wildly different schedules, and two very different career paths. One lives in the world of law, the other in the world of soccer, but they have always made time for each other, no matter how busy or chaotic life got. Today, Nate and Jackie share a life full of laughter, support, and teamwork, along with parenting their dog Artemis and their cat Mia. On January 2, 2026, in one of their favorite places, Austin, Texas, Nate asked Jackie to marry him. She cried (a lot), then said yes, and they cannot wait to celebrate forever with the people they love most.
